Ford Mustangs

Growing up as a child of the 60’s I had the fortune of being exposed to the Ford Mustang.  As a young boy I can recall trips in my Father’s 1965 Mustang hardtop.  I was also fortunate enough to have a relative in the Ford business at the time who supplied me with a Mustang pedal car and a battery operated Mustang model.  Both of which are highly sought after collectable items today.  All of this probably had a great deal to do with my car of choice when it came time for me  to purchase my first car in High School.  I must admit, however, it really was not my first choice.  I know this is going to sound sacrilegious, but I had my heart set on a 72 Camaro.  Only after the deal fell through on this car did I end up with a Mustang….A 1966 Hardtop with a 289 V-8, dual exhaust in Springtime Yellow.  This car remained with me throughout high school.  Shortly after I felt the need for a “Rag Top” and purchased the 1966 convertible you will see in the photos section.  This car faithfully transported me between Columbia and Greenwood SC while attending the University of South Carolina.  It continued this duty when I transferred to Clemson University to complete my Engineering degree.  After college the car was placed into storage for a restoration at a later date.  Today I own 3 Mustangs(1966 convert. 1989 25th anniversary 5.0 LX, and a 2005 GT – more on this later), my Brother owns 2 (1965 fastback and 1966 convertible) and my father owns a 1966 hardtop.   Yes, we are a Mustang Family!
